Distance Measuring Devices

In this competition, a player may obtain distance information by using a device that measures distance only.

If during a stipulated round a player uses a distance-measuring device that is designed to guage or measure other condidions that might effect his play (e.g., gradient, windspeed, temperature, etc.), the player is in breach of Rule 14-3, for which the penalty is disqualification, regardless of whether any such additional functions are actually used.

Driver Head/Golf Balls

The driver head and golf ball the player uses shall be named on the current "List of Conforming Driver Heads/Golf Balls" of the USGA which is posted on the USGA website.

Penalty:  Disqualification

Lifting an Embedded Ball

(Appendix I) Anywhere "through the green," a ball which is embedded in its own pitch-mark in the ground, except in loose sand, may be lifted without penalty, cleaned and dropped as near as possible to the spot where it lay but not nearer the hole.

Pace of Play Policy

Each Golf Professional is responsible to monitor the pace of their group along with the Rules Committee.  Please be reminded there are 29 groups of five on each golf course and to maintain a reasonable pace of play ALL competitors MUST be ready to play when it is his turn to play.  Please do not look for golf for more than 5 minutes and don't waste a lot of time looking for golf balls in the desert area.  Help others in your group look for lost balls after you have hit your shot.

Thank you for your efforts.

Playoff

In the event there is a tie for the Championship, the tie will be broken by adding the back nine scores from each day.  This method will be used on the Team Event and the Professionals Event.

Practice at Putting Green

Practice putting on the green of the hole last played is only permitted when you are up with the group in front of you and you and the group behind you is not waiting to play.

Scorecards (returning)

Please put only gross scores on the card next to each players name.  At the bottom of the card we ask that you put your lowest net score and lowest gross score.  One player can not count as the Gross and Net score for the team on the same hole.

Return cards to the Banquet area immediately following play.

Time of Starting

Shotgun starts each day will begin at 8:30.
