PGA Indiana Open

In this competition, a player may obtain distance information by using a device that measures distance only. 

If during a stipulated round a player uses a distance-measuring device that is designed to guage or measure other condidions that might effect his play (e.g., gradient, windspeed, temperature, etc.), the player is in breach of Rule 14-3, for which the penalty is disqualification, regardless of whether any such additional functions are actually used.

The driver head and golf ball the player uses shall be named on the current "List of Conforming Driver Heads/Golf Balls" of the USGA which is posted on the USGA website.

Penalty:  Disqualification

(Appendix I) Anywhere "through the green," a ball which is embedded in its own pitch-mark in the ground, except in loose sand, may be lifted without penalty, cleaned and dropped as near as possible to the spot where it lay but not nearer the hole.

Particiapnts are reminded that the PGA Dress Code is in effect for this competition. All competitors must wear slacks.

A player shall not play any practice strokes on or near the putting green of the hole last played. If a practice stroke is played on or near the putting green of the hole last played, the player shall incur a penalty of two strokes at the next hole, except that in the case of the last hole of the round, he incurs the penalty at that hole. 

Penalty for Breach is Two Strokes in stroke play and Loss of hole in match play.

If either Monday or Tuesday is completely rained out, a 36-hole final will be played on Thursday.  If both round 1 and 2 are washed out, a 36 hole final will be played on Friday.  If Wednesday is rained out, a 36 hole final will be played on Thursday.  If Thursday is rained out and more than half the field has completed their final round, play will resume on Friday and 72 holes will constitute a completed event.  If less than half the field has completed their final round, 54 holes will constitute a completed event.  If 54 holes are not completed, play will resume Friday and 54 holes will constitute a completed event.  

ONE prolonged note signals a suspension for a dangerous situation and all players SHALL DISCONTINUE PLAY IMMEDIATELY. If a player fails to discontinue play, he shall be disqualified.

All practice areas shall be closed during a suspension for a dangerous situation until the committee has declared it open for use.

THREE notes signal all other suspensions, players have the option of finishing out the hole they are playing or they may discontinue play.

TWO notes signal a resumption of play unless otherwise declared by the committee.

If a player arrives at his starting point, ready to play, within five minutes after his starting time, in the absence of circumstances which warrant waiving  the penalty of disqualification as provided in Rule 33-7, the penalth for failure to start on time is Two Strokes at the first hole in stoke play or loss of first hole in match play.
