Rules

Title Detail
"One Ball Rule"
Balls with identical markings to be used. Throughout a stipulated round, the player is limited to golf balls with identical markings, except the player identification numbers may differ by number only, not by color. 

Penalty for Breach

Stroke Play:  Two Strokes for each hole at which any violation occurred; maximum penalty per round:  Four Strokes.

Match Play:  At the conclusion of the hole where the breach was discovered, the match shall be adjusted by deducting one hole; maximum deduction per round: two holes.

Cell Phone Policy Cell phone use is prohibited during a stipulated round, with the exception of areas such as the clubhouse or parking lot, when you are not interfering or delaying play.  First violation is two strokes, second violation is disqualification.
Distance Measuring Devices

In this competition, a player may obtain distance information by using a device that measures distance only. 

If during a stipulated round a player uses a distance-measuring device that is designed to guage or measure other condidions that might effect his play (e.g., gradient, windspeed, temperature, etc.), the player is in breach of Rule 14-3, for which the penalty is disqualification, regardless of whether any such additional functions are actually used.

Driver Head/Golf Balls

The driver head and golf ball the player uses shall be named on the current "List of Conforming Driver Heads/Golf Balls" of the USGA which is posted on the USGA website.

Penalty:  Disqualification

Lifting an Embedded Ball

(Appendix I) Anywhere "through the green," a ball which is embedded in its own pitch-mark in the ground, except in loose sand, may be lifted without penalty, cleaned and dropped as near as possible to the spot where it lay but not nearer the hole.

Pace of Play Policy The IGA will be utilizing a two checkpoint system  to monitor the pace of play for this championship.   For complete details look in the

Playoff In the event of a tie for the Championship, a hole-by-hole playoff will commence immediately followin the posting of the final scores on a hole to be determined by the Committee. 
Practice at Putting Green

A player shall not play any practice strokes on or near the putting green of the hole last played. If a practice stroke is played on or near the putting green of the hole last played, the player shall incur a penalty of two strokes at the next hole, except that in the case of the last hole of the round, he incurs the penalty at that hole. 

Penalty for Breach is Two Strokes in stroke play and Loss of hole in match play.

Results of the Competition When all scores have been posted on the Official Scoreboard and approved by the Committee, the result of the competition shall be deemed to have been announced.  In the event of a playoff, the competitions shall be deemed to have closed when the playoff scores have been approved by the Committee.
Scorecards (returning) For the purpose of applying Rule 6-6c, a competitor is considered to have returned his scorecard when the score is posted on the Official Scoreboard.  Players shall report directly to the Scoring Area immediately following play.
Suspension of Play

ONE prolonged note signals a suspension for a dangerous situation and all players SHALL DISCONTINUE PLAY IMMEDIATELY. If a player fails to discontinue play, he shall be disqualified.

All practice areas shall be closed during a suspension for a dangerous situation until the committee has declared it open for use.

THREE notes signal all other suspensions, players have the option of finishing out the hole they are playing or they may discontinue play.

TWO notes signal a resumption of play unless otherwise declared by the committee.         

Time of Starting

(Note under Rule 6-3a and Appendix I.)

If a player arrives at his starting point, ready to play, within five minutes after his starting time, in the absence of circumstances which warrant waiving  the penalty of disqualification as provided in Rule 33-7, the penalth for failure to start on time is Two Strokes at the first hole in stoke play or loss of first hole in match play.
